There's thousands of other popcorn movies out there which can provide stupid entertainment, Genisys doesn't rise above that level, so go in with the lowest of low expectations and you may have an ok experience. Generally tho', this film just feels like a waste of time. So maybe worth a watch if you're a 3D-follower and haven't got round to this one yet. I watched in Bluray-3D, was quite well done. But there's nothing really here to recommend it. Thankfully it got a little better, becoming stupid entertainment rather than just being a bad film. The action is passable but there's the usual overuse of CGI, especially poor for vehicular scenes: there's just no sense of immersion or jeopardy. ![]() It's left to Arnie to provide something mildly interesting, even got a laugh from one of the smiling scenes. With the kind of well-cut six-pack physique (which has become obligatory for movie heroes these days) replacing any sense of a real person. Then there's the yawnfest cast: the Kyle Reece character is so incredibly bland, it's almost impressive. Genisys is utterly derivative, full of committee-driven fan-service & anaemic nostalgia call-backs. But for whatever reason none of the subsequent sequels have managed this. T2 proved you don't need logic to make a worthwhile Terminator sequel: you just need good film-making.
